Ukulele Ministry

COMMUNITY IMPACT THROUGH A HAPPY LITTLE INSTRUMENT

Community Church Ukulele Ministry Combines Six Generations in Sharing the Joy of Music

This music ministry started in the summer of 2016, under the direction of Pastor Scooter Ward.  The first Community Ukes performance was at Brookdale Destin on July 27, 2016.  What began as a small group of players desiring to minister to our area senior living and memory care facilities, has blossomed into two ukulele groups with a vibrant ministry that has cycled more than 160 different players through it.

COMMUNITY UKES (UKULELE GROUP #1)
This ukulele group is open to all adults and intermediate/advanced kid players.  Students are taught how to play the ukulele and are expected to practice weekly and perform monthly for both Brookdale and Watercrest Memory Care Facilities. The group classes meet upstairs at the church on Thursdays at 10am.

COMMUNITY UKESTERS (UKULELE GROUP #2)
This ukulele group is primarily made up of 3rd through 11th graders. Students are taught how to play the ukulele and are expected to practice weekly and perform monthly at the Somerby Memory Care Facility.  The group classes meet upstairs on Tuesdays 3:30-4:30pm at Community Church during the regular school year from School Start to Spring Break (the advanced students join the adult group during the summer months).
Parental support is also expected for crowd control (rotational)
and for transportation to performances.

Anyone interested in becoming a part of our ukulele ministry, please contact Pastor Scooter at using the form (below).  Class sizes are limited and open on a first come, first served basis at the beginning of the school year and/or new calendar year.
